A Memorandum of Understanding was signed on 3 August 2007 between Andhra University, Visakhapatnam and Nippon Care-Fit Service Association - India for collaborative teaching, training and research in Gerontology.

| The inauguration of the center took place on 22 September 2007. Prof. L. Venugopal Reddy, Vice Chancellor of Andhra University along with Mr. Nen Hatanaka, Founder of Nippon care-Fit Service Association, Japan and Dr. Ryo Takahashi, Founder of NCSA Center for Gerontology -Japan and Mr. T.H. Manuel, Founder of Nippon Care-Fit Service Association - India, inaugurated the AU-NCSA Center for Gerontology on 22 September 2007 |
* To provide a focus for worldwide exchange and dissemination of research and practice as well as networking in the field of aging, by associating with AGHE and GSA.
* To introduce the concept of collaborative learning with grass roots international support in future by creating a collaborative training center for coordination with all private and public sectors of administration, public and citizens, schools, institutions, etc., by designing a "Cafeteria" curriculum.
* To promote cross national, multi-disciplinary collaboration in the area of aging to facilitate learning, research and training in Gerontology. It will be an inter-professional and inter-disciplinary activity based on the principles of Gerontology.
* To promote exchange of up-to-date knowledge and skills through conferences, workshops and seminars besides publication and contribution to journals at the international and national levels. | | |
